After months away, Tony D’Angelo made his NXT return at Deadline. Since then, he has been on a path of destruction that hasn’t been stopped by anyone. He has crossed paths with Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page, Joe Hendry, and Dion Lennox since coming back.
On January 13, 2026, in an episode of NXT, he had an intense staredown with General Manager Ava. It was clear that what he was doing was both unacceptable and not appreciated behavior. While doing so, he has said no words, only communicating through his actions.
Will Ava take the threat of D’Angelo seriously, or will he continue his reign of terror through the NXT men’s division? If it continues, what repercussions will he potentially face if he does face punishment from her?
D’Angelo Gets Arrested and Escorted Out of the WWE Performance Center
The January 20 NXT started on a somber note. Ava met with security, warning them about D’Angelo and the threat he poses to everyone in the building. But it wouldn’t take long for him to make his presence known. Shiloh Hill beat Josh Briggs in his match to qualify for the NXT Championship ladder match in two weeks.
He didn’t get long to celebrate, as D’Angelo crashed his party. Beginning his usual weekly beatdowns, he delivered chokeslams to both men. Ricky Saints, who was the guest commentator for the match, was utterly shocked.
He stared him down before leaving the arena, or so everyone thought. Another qualifying match was held between Eli Knight and Sean Legacy, with Legacy advancing. Once again, D’Angelo disrupted the celebration.
He took his antics one step further, with Legacy getting chokeslammed through the table. That was when Ava decided that she had seen enough. She walked out with many police officers by her side. Instead of fighting, he accepted his fate. He calmly put his hands behind his back as handcuffs were placed around his wrists.
As he was led out, Ava said that he left him no choice but to have him arrested. He exited the building and was placed in a black car. Blake Howard attempted to interview him, but the window got rolled up, denying him a chance to get an answer.

Unchecked violence is now a very punishable offence in NXT, with Ava making it clear that his behavior will no longer be tolerated. D’Angelo’s WWE future is now up in the air. Could he get a chance to redeem himself in NXT? Will this arrest lead to a one-way trip to the main roster? It seems like his story is far from being over.
