Jordynne Grace Impresses in Debut on 1/9 WWE SmackDown

Jordynne Grace has been a household name for years for fans of TNA and NXT. She was three time TNA Knockouts Champion and the very first TNA Digital Media Champion. After making an appearance in the Royal Rumble in 2024, she signed with WWE at the beginning of last year. She had a good run in NXT, including a great feud with Blake Monroe.

On the January 9, 2026 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, she officially signed with the blue brand after making an appearance the week before. Now that she was officially on the main roster, who would she take on in her first match, and would she claim the victory?

Grace Beats Alba Fyre and Gets a Visitor Afterwards

Prior to her match, the main roster audience saw Grace three times. Two times were in the Royal Rumble the past two years, and the other was at Evolution for Jacy Jayne’s NXT Women’s Championship.

In those three matches, she was extremely impressive, showing her athleticism and strength in the ring. During the broadcast, General Manager Nick Aldis officially welcomed her to SmackDown. That got the attention of Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre. They exchanged words with each other, and a match was made.

Grace was going to take on Fyre in her first match on the main roster. The match started, with Grace immediately making her presence known. She ran straight into Fyre, pummeling her with her forearms until she backed her into the corner. Fyre tried to counter, but got turned back to back, with Grace smashing her body against the turnbuckle.

She continued to pour on the offense, leaving Fyre with no way to counter at all. It seemed like she was going to win easily, but Fyre had a plan of her own. She got Grace into a headlock, but before she could execute the suplex, forearm strikes started raining down on her. Getting out of it, she tried to slam Grace’s head onto the turnbuckle but was again denied.

A spinebuster and folding powerbomb forced Green to get on the apron and start arguing with Grace. She picked up Fyre and threw her straight into Green, knocking her off the apron. Picking her up again, she transitioned a torture rack into Beast Mode, which was enough for the victory.

But she wasn’t able to celebrate for very long. WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill officially welcomed her to SmackDown, teasing a match in the near future. That’s certainly something that fans want to see for a variety of reasons. Grace had a great debut, and it’s clear that WWE has big plans for her on SmackDown.
