WWE Attitude Era: Every Royal Rumble Match, Ranked

1. 2001 Royal Rumble Match

Date January 21, 2001
Longest time in the match Kane (53:46)
Shortest time in the match Tazz (0:10)
Most eliminations Kane (11)
Winner Steve Austin

Not only is this the greatest Royal Rumble Match of the Attitude Era, but it is also arguably one of the best Rumbles of all time. Kane stole the show as he lasted nearly one hour and eliminated more than one-third of the participants, but came up just short as he was the last man eliminated by Steve Austin.

The Rock came close to winning as well, lasting 38 minutes and being one of the final three wrestlers before getting eliminated by Kane. The Big Show returned to the WWF towards the end of the Rumble, as did former Golden Era performer Haku.

Speaking of the Golden Era, former Intercontinental Champion The Honky Tonk Man made his surprise return to the Royal Rumble. Drew Carey’s entertaining cameo is still talked about today, and even the hardcore division had their chance to shine.
