Is John Cena Worthy Of WWE’s Mount Rushmore?

Stone Cold Steve Austin

Steve Austin was the Attitude Era. His rise to the top coincided with WWE’s renewed success and wrestling in general. Liking wrestling became cool again, and WWE achieved unprecedented success, drawing larger crowds than they had in years.

Winning 6 World Championships, three Royal Rumbles, and a King of the Ring, Steve Austin was the man and continues to get massive pops years after he retired from full-time action.

John Cena can unseat many great wrestlers from WWE’s Mount Rushmore, but Steve Austin isn’t one of them. Cena’s career parallels Austin in many ways, with Cena even gaining the advantage in championships, but Stone Cold’s impact cannot be understated.

Steve Austin brought a company back from the brink and sparked a revolution in wrestling. His impact on WWE overall is comparable to that of no one.

About Daniel Sinasac

Dan has been a fan of wrestling since his grandmother sat him down to watch JYD and Sgt. Slaughter go to battle. That began a decades-long obsession with professional wrestling. An obsession that has developed into a love/hate relationship with the greatest entertainment medium in the world.
