Who Is Under The Mask? Debating CM Punk’s Attacker

One of the biggest stories coming out of Saturday’s Survivor Series was the finish of the Men’s WarGames match. When it looked like the babyface team would seal their victory, a masked man scaled the cage, proceeding to superkick and curb stomp CM Punk, allowing Bron Breakker to get the pin. It was a shocking turn of events, and one that has sparked much debate.

Most of the time, the masked attacker would reveal him or herself, but not at Survivor Series. The assailant disappeared before anything could be answered. It was a shock to see WarGames end like that, causing the world to wonder who the masked man is. Who had inserted themselves into the main event picture? There are a few possibilities; let’s examine them.

Dolph Ziggler/Nic Nemeth

The partnership between TNA and WWE has produced some fantastic moments over the past year. Wrestlers showing up in either promotion have added a sense of intrigue to every show, and it could lead to a larger crossover in the future. The events of Survivor Series could be the sounding-off point for a full-fledged TNA invasion, with Dolph Ziggler, aka Nic Nemeth, striking the first blow.

It’s hard to pick apart who the masked man would be just from his physicality, but there are some resemblances to Dolph Ziggler. He is known to throw the superkick religiously in his matches, and the way in which he moved looked like Ziggler. He also has a history with CM Punk, and it would be plausible for Ziggler to want to ruin Punk’s night.
