Sami Zayn has had a serious problem for months now. That problem comes in the form of the five guys that make up MFT. Wherever they go, Solo Sikoa and his family cause trouble and beat up everyone they see. That has been no different for Zayn. Their last encounter led to a pretty nasty result for him. MFT jumped him on the October 10, 2025, episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
The week after, he defied medical orders and lost the United States Championship to Ilja Dragunov. Since then, he’s been on the shelf healing up. However, an announcement on the November 14 SmackDown changed things for him in a big way.
Zayn Gets the All Clear and Forms a Necessary Supergroup
MFT has had an exciting couple of weeks. They have been in a storyline with the Wyatt Sicks, who have confronted them several times. But nothing has come from it yet. So they’ve set their sights on four other men. The Motor City Machine Guns, along with Rey Fenix and Shinsuke Nakamura, have battled them relentlessly. Unfortunately, the four of them and Zayn have been no match for their dominance. With Zayn out, he has had to watch his friends get attacked without being able to help them fully.
He came out and cut a promo on the five men, saying that exact sentiment very emotionally. Sikoa and MFT came out, insulting him and teasing that he isn’t medically cleared. But Zayn shocked both MFT and the audience by saying that he had finally been cleared to compete. They exchanged words, then attacked each other. The other members of MFT got in the ring and made it a five-on-one attack.
It was looking hopeless for Zayn, just like it had been for his four friends. For weeks, Sikoa and crew have easily beaten them without much pushback whatsoever. Would that streak continue this week? Before everything seemed lost, help arrived for Zayn. The Motor City Machine Guns, Rey Fenix, and Shinsuke Nakamura came rushing to his aid. They evened the odds in a big way, clearing the ring of Sikoa and his family and gaining the upper hand.

The ten men won’t have to wait long to have a match against each other. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that a five-on-five elimination match between them would take place in two weeks. With that short of a gap, Zayn and his friends should be on guard in case MFT tries to pull something next week. But for now, they should enjoy their small win before their big fight in two weeks.
