As a newly-named star in the John Cena “Last Time is Now” Tournament said on WWE SmackDown, the field just got grander, as the tournament now includes more heavy-hitters and killers. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis drew more names to join the field on this week’s SmackDown, as he announced Carmelo Hayes as another entrant. The man he’ll be facing off against? The “Auszilla,” none other than “Big” Bronson Reed.
WWE Universe, the surprises did not stop there. Aldis would draw two more names, announcing that Penta would be taking on the leader of The Judgment Day, Finn Balor, in another first-round match. Four men have already booked their tickets to the second round of this tournament as the battle to be John Cena’s final opponent at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, intensifies.
Reed and Hayes already got into it backstage on SmackDown. Before his Undisputed WWE Title Match against Cody Rhodes, Bronson Reed would put Carmelo Hayes on notice, saying that once he crushes Rhodes and becomes the champion, Carmelo Hayes will be next. Despite the monster that is Bronson Reed, Carmelo Hayes seems like he’s not about to back down one bit.

WWE Universe, we’re only in the early stages of the John Cena “Last Time Is Now” Tournament, but it seems like we’re going to need to buckle up for the next four weeks as these superstars try to earn the privilege of facing Cena in his swan song.
