Nixon Newell & Miranda Alize Clears Air on Alleged Walk Out of AEW Collision Taping

Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize teamed up on the October 25 edition of AEW Collision, where they faced Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne. Shafir and Bayne won the match in less than two and a half minutes. The result made sense in context, as AEW wanted to showcase Shafir and Bayne after Penelope Ford missed the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament.

On November 8, Newell and Alize were scheduled to face Anna Jay and Tay Melo. However, the match did not take place. There were reports that the two were allegedly unwilling to lose again after several defeats and decided to leave the taping.

They were replaced by Hyan and Maya World, who stepped in at short notice and were praised backstage for their readiness. The situation reportedly caught Newell and Alize off guard when it first unfolded.

Talking About Rumors and Misunderstandings

During a Twitch stream, Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize spoke about what really happened. They denied any reports of conflict between Newell and Megan Bayne during their first AEW match. Newell explained that after discussing the promo they were given, both she and Alize felt that a short three-minute match would not be beneficial for anyone.

Newell said that AEW assured them that there were no problems and that they were free to go. She stressed that no one should blame either side for any misunderstanding and criticized how the media covered the story, revealing that she had even received online threats.

The former Tegan Nox (Newell) and Miranda Alize clarified that their decision was professional and based on their desire to maintain match quality and mutual respect, not on any personal issues or hostility.
