The 2025 NJPW Super Jr. Tag League is underway, and the action has been heated and thrilling for its first four days. Kicking off last Thursday, October 23, the annual showcase of junior heavyweight tag teams is slated to end on November 1st, with the finals set two days after.
Here’s how the teams are performing so far:
Reigning Tag Champs with a Perfect Run so Far
Defending Jr. Heavyweight tag team champions SHO & DOUKI are undefeated after three matches, leading the A Block with six points. They won against Templario and Jakob Austin Young of United Empire, the Skateboard Boys (Ryusuke Taguchi/Dragon Dia), and one of the two Bullet Club War Dogs-Unaffiliated teams, Hiromu Takahashi and Gedo.
Of course, none of those three victories were clean. Each match was more difficult than the other and there were instances where they almost lost. Unfortunately, the House of Torture pair always finds a way to sneak out of trouble and win.
They don’t wrestle another tournament match until next Thursday, October 30, taking on the other undefeated team of YOH and Master Wato.
Defending Tournament Winners Remain Unblemished
After winning in today’s main event against KUSHIDA and Yuki Yoshioka, 2024 Super Jr. Tag League winners Ichiban Sweet Boys (Robbie Eagles/Kosei Fujita) of TMDK lead the B Block with six points and no losses. They are poised to win the tournament for a second straight year, with two matches remaining on the board. Their next opponents are the winless team of Tiger Mask and YAMATO next Wednesday, October 29.
Only the Bullet Club War Dogs team of Taiji Ishimori and Robbie X remains a threat to their campaign, and they will wrestle them on November 1st.

Here are the current standings of both blocks after four days:

The winners of the tournament will also receive a shot at the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team titles.
