Why DarkState Attack will Benefit Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater

TNA Wrestling’s annual Bound for Glory event was held on October 12, 2025. It was filled with great wrestling and intense moments, and one of those moments happened during the X Division Championship match between Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater. The two young stars put on a show for everyone watching in the arena and at home. Both of them used their incredible athletic ability and wrestling knowledge to get the win for themselves. But before a winner was decided, the match was interrupted.

DarkState attacked the two men, causing a no-contest. On social media, people were not happy. Two young stars getting their match derailed by a faction was not what fans wanted to see. It was reported that WWE had a major influence on that match. Everyone is right in criticizing WWE for this move. But that result could actually be good for both Evans and Slater.

Fans Now Know Who Evans and Slater Are

There are many types of people in the wrestling world. Some watch WWE, others love AEW, and a select few watch both. Some people prefer the worlds of Japanese and Mexican promotions, as well as independent circuit fans. However, when a major news story breaks, it gets the attention of everyone, no matter what you’re a fan of. Two rising stars getting their match hijacked is very important news. It will show up in your news feed even if you’re not a fan of NXT or TNA.

Doing so will naturally cause people to look up Evans and Slater. Then they will see the incredible matches they’ve had that have earned them the hype they receive. DarkState’s attack actually made Slater and Evans more popular with wrestling fans. Controversy gets clicks, and this controversy probably made a lot more fans of these two young stars.

The Attack Should Make Outraged Fans Demand a Rematch

Both Evans and Slater are only twenty-one years old. If they don’t have many injury concerns, there’s no reason why they won’t wrestle for another twenty years, either with a major company or on the independent circuit. Gone are the days when you were considered done in your late thirties and early forties. That’s why this attack seemed good for DarkState at the time, but it will massively hurt them. Fans see Evans and Slater as the future of professional wrestling.

They know how damaging Sunday’s attack was. A clear and definitive winner should be decided between the two men. It wouldn’t be surprising if fans demand a rematch online at some point. Sacrificing a clear finish for shock value was a horrible decision. Putting together a no-disqualification rematch, whether it’s in an NXT or TNA ring, should be a priority to avenge DarkState’s actions.

Evans and Slater Will Turn the Negative into a Positive

People are laying into WWE harder than ever before. That was a terrible decision, as a clear finish could’ve solidified the match as their breakout match. Fans could’ve been talking about it for decades. But instead, DarkState had to ruin the moment. Lots of valid criticism is being directed at WWE, but Evans and Slater will make this situation work for them. Fans outside of the NXT and TNA bubble now have been exposed to this attack and know who these two men are.

Looking up their matches will definitely make new fans out of people. Fans familiar with them before the attack are rightfully angry. Demanding a rematch will make Evans and Slater work harder than ever before, as even they are mad about what happened. A no disqualification bout will show never fans who they are and right a wrong that should’ve never taken place.
