NJPW Super Jr. Tag League is set to begin on October 23, and NJPW has announced the teams that will be competing this year. There are a few eye-catching first-time pairings for both blocks mixed with more established teams.
Check out all the teams for both blocks below:
A Block
- DOUKI & SHO (debut entry, IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champions)
- Skateboard Bros.: Ryusuke Taguchi & Dragon Dia (Dragongate) (2nd consecutive entry)
- YOH & Master Wato (debut entry)
- Templario & Jakob Austin Young (debut entry)
- Clark Connors & Daiki Nagai (debut entry)
- Hiromu Takahashi & Gedo (debut entry)
B Block
- Ichiban Sweet Boys: Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita (3rd consecutive entry, 2024 winners)

- El Desperado & KUUKAI (debut entry)
- Tiger Mask & YAMATO (Dragongate) (debut entry)
- KUSHIDA & Yuki Yoshioka (Dragongate) (debut entry)
Half of this year’s competitors will team up for the first time ever. Two of the most noticeable ones on the A Block are the mixed Unaffiliated and Bullet Club War Dogs pairs of Clark Connors and Daiki Nagai, and Hiromu Takahashi and Gedo.
Meanwhile, the B Block has two teams with Dragongate representation in Tiger Mask and YAMATO, and KUSHIDA and Yuki Yoshioka. They also have the most experienced team in the entire league, which also happens to be the team that won it last year, the Ichiban Sweet Boys.
The tournament will retain its round robin format, where the top two teams of each block with the most points advance to the finals. The trophy will be contested at the Tanahashi Final Homecoming show on November 2nd.

Two Title Matches Slated for Tanahashi Final Homecoming
Speaking of the special show on November 2nd, two title matches are set for the event. The headliner will be Konosuke Takeshita’s first defense of the IWGP World Heavyweight title against Hirooki Goto.
The other one is the Global Heavyweight title duel between Yota Tsuji and Hiroshi Tanahashi. It will be The Ace’s final match in his hometown of Gifu, which has now turned into a golden opportunity to add another singles title reign nine weeks before his retirement.
