AEW Dynamite Preview (9/17/25) – September to Remember

One week until All Out, 3 hours of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan looks to make an already memorable month, a September to Remember. Besides, Hangman Adam Page has solidified his status as the main character. The Young Bucks won some cash. The women have been killing each other.

Speaking of death, Kyle Fletcher screaming “he’s dead” into the doctor’s microphone after brain-busting Kenny Omega through a table is my insult of the month. Better than Mark Briscoe calling Don Callis Elton John dressed as a phallus for Halloween.

3 hours of action offer bangers, character development, and final wrinkles before All Out. How is Bobby Lashley going to hurt Toa Liona? Can Queen Aminata finally squash the Toxic Spider? Will Jon Moxley cross a threshold to a brand new low?

All Out Qualifiers

Three qualifiers for two title matches at All Out will see spot-fests, overacting, and a dinosaur. Perhaps, maybe, a face turn? We’ll leave that for later.

Everyone’s favourite masked lawyer, Beast Mortos, takes on CMLL’s Mascara Dorada. The victor challenges for the AEW Unified Championship this weekend. This match will have a lucha libre base but an emphasis on speed and agility vs. power and brawl. Will LFI be present or a factor?

Elsewhere, two of the most expressive and excitable men in the AEW locker room clash with two of its loudest complainers. Judging by their social media, The Young Bucks are enjoying their winnings. It might seem an obvious conclusion, given that the former EVPs are high rollers again. However, lady luck can change in an instant. She can be fickle. Regardless, this match is going to slap for the facial expressions alone.

Finally, Jetspeed takes on Kip Sabian and Killswitch. Yet, picking up the threads from Forbidden Door, not everything seems right with the former Luchasauras and the Matriarchy. Tension between Sabian and Killswitch was signposted. Sabian better be careful, or he may get choke slammed into the tar pit?

Christian/Copeland and FTR Face-to-Face

Will Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, and FTR be able to keep their hands off each other? Blows were landed through the 2300 Arena residency. Shirts were pulled over heads like a hockey fight. Security and ROH roster members taken out.

The stage is set for a violent tag contest. One that might bring Cage and Copeland into synch. What’s been great about their reunion has been the slow building of trust and the retention of beloved character traits. Cage remains an asshole and the wrestler everyone wants to be their father.

Each team has devious men with razorblades for tongues. Stokely Hathaway might not have hoes, but he has tricks up his tracksuit sleeve. FTR are in the heel form of their AEW careers. Home country crowd or not, fans singing Alter Bridge or dad chants at Cage, this isn’t going to be a straightforward chat.

Expect something big.
