For the past few weeks, Penta has been in a feud with the team of Grayson Waller and the New Day. The three men haven’t been happy with much of Penta’s actions as of late. They have complained to WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce multiple times and have been successful in getting many matches with him. He has had three singles matches with them, as well as a six-man tag team match teaming with the Viking Raiders. It seemed like their feud would be over, as Penta and the Viking Raiders were victorious. But the three men had other plans during his match with Rusev.
A Tense Rivalry Leads to a Rusev Victory
On the September 8, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw, Penta had a specific thing he had to clear up with Adam Pearce. He went up to him, wanting to know why he apparently didn’t like him. Pearce was baffled at those comments, stating that everyone had liked him since his debut in January. Penta took his lack of title opportunities as a sign of disrespect. That’s when Rusev came up and interrupted their conversation. He ended up saying pretty much the same thing, saying that his defeat of Sheamus at Clash in Paris should get him a title opportunity.
The two men then got into each other’s faces, ready to brawl backstage. That’s when Pearce reminded them that a brawl there results in a fine. He suggested a match, which would be their first time match against each other. The match took place later that night, with both men battling back and forth for the victory.
But it took a turn when Grayson Waller and The New Day arrived as a distraction for Penta. After going back to the ropes, he dodged Rusev and instead dove onto the trio. That seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but it proved to be costly in the end. Sending Rusev to the outside led to him getting met with a punch. Out of desperation, he unsuccessfully hit a Mexican Destroyer, which has been a subject of Waller and The New Day’s complaining.

Finally, a jump off the top rope led to a kick to the face and a pin by Rusev. Things were definitely going well for Penta until interference derailed the momentum of the match. A big win for Rusev meant a massive loss for Penta. It seems his bitter feud with Waller and The New Day is anything but over.
