Tensions are rising in WWE NXT as eyes are starting to get set on No Mercy. This week’s NXT episode will feature stars who are fighting for their chance to be on the event. It will be the beginning of the Speed Tournament to see who challenges the champion, Sol Ruca. Along with a stacked 8-man tag team match later in the night, with some unlikely partners. Here’s a WWE NXT preview to let you in on what to expect on this week’s episode.
WWE NXT Preview & Match Card:
- Speed Tournament Match: Candice LeRae vs Xia Brookside
- Tag Team Match: Oba Femi, Ricky Saints, Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger vs. Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James, and Saquon Shugars (Darkstate)
- Singles Match: Lash Legend vs. Jaida Parker
Candice LeRae vs. Xia Brookside
To prepare for No Mercy, this week, NXT kicks off a tournament to determine Sol Ruca’s challenger for her Speed Championship at the PLE on September 27th. The first match in the tournament will be SmackDown’s Candace LeRae vs. TNA’s Xia Brookside.
Both are great competitors in the ring, but speed matches are unlike any other type of match. In these tournament matches, there are only three minutes to pin your opponent to advance. You have to be clever and quick on your feet.
The Speed Championship Tournament will continue into next week.
Oba Femi, Ricky Saints, Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger vs. Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James, and Saquon Shugars (DarkState)
This massive 8-man tag team match includes fallout from NXT Heatwave and feuds that are brewing.
Last week on NXT, Ricky Saints defeated Josh Briggs to become the number one contender for Oba Femi’s NXT Championship. After DarkState attacked the two, Saints and Femi are set to work together with Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. We will have to watch and find out if Saints and Femi can coexist for the night.
Walker and Ledger recently lost their tag team championships to the DarkState at NXT Heatwave. This tag match will be a way for Walker and Ledger to gain some retribution after losing the tag team championships.
Lash Legend vs. Jaida Parker
Tensions have been rising very high between Jaida Parker and Lash Legend over the past few weeks, and this week on NXT, we will finally get a singles match between the two.
It is bound to be a great bout as they are both phenomenal in-ring competitors. Both women want a chance at the NXT Women’s Championship. Who knows, maybe after No Mercy, one of these women will be next in line.
