Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY Screwed, Naomi Wins Women’s World Title at WWE Evolution 2025

Rhea Ripley was riding high entering 2025, having defeated Liv Morgan to become Women’s World Champion for the second time on WWE Raw, marking the debut of the show on Netflix. About two months later, her world crumbled after losing the title to IYO SKY and almost losing out on an opportunity to be a part of WrestleMania 41. WWE Evolution 2025 was the place where Ripley would vindicate herself, or so she thought.

As evidenced by their past countless showdowns, these two had a couple of things in mind: to be the match of the night and to come out of WWE Evolution 2025 as Women’s World Champion. These two mercilessly battered each other, creating another modern classic.

However, on this night, Ripley was simply undeniable. After a tense back-and-forth in the main event that went all match, Ripley had IYO SKY dead to rights and was poised to become a three-time Women’s World Champion. However, IYO SKY would hit referee Jessika Carr with an errant Missile Dropkick. Ripley would hit Riptide, which would have won her the title in every other situation. Unfortunately, the referee was nowhere to be found.

The two fought outside and inside the ring, absolutely annihilating each other. That’s when Naomi saw her opportunity. Naomi ran down to the ring with the Money in the Bank briefcase in hand and prompted Alicia Taylor to announce that she was officially cashing in Money in the Bank. Naomi would hit SKY with the briefcase and throw Ripley out of the ring.

After a Split-Legged Moonsault, Naomi would walk out of Atlanta, Georgia, as the #AndNEW WWE Women’s World Champion.
