New Group featuring Dion Lennox Debuts at WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2025

Dion Lennox Returns to NXT with Vengeance and Oba Femi on His Mind

Approximately one month ago, Dion Lennox stepped up to NXT Champion Oba Femi to congratulate him on winning the title. Lennox told Femi that one day, he’d challenge him for that title, to which Femi dismissed him. Later on, Lennox wrestled Wes Lee in a losing effort and hadn’t been seen on NXT since. That was until Saturday night, when Lennox, along with Saquon Shugars (formerly Lucky Ali), Osiris Griffin (formerly Josh Black), and Cutler James made their presence felt. The unnamed group attacked after the tag team championship and again later in the night, went after Femi and left him lying after his successful title defense.

Dion Lennox told the champ one day he’d challenge for his championship and it appears that one day may have arrived.

Who is Dion Lennox?

A former college football player at Oregon State, Dion Lennox was signed as an undrafted free agent to the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 but was cut before playing in a game for the team. In 2023, he made his way to NXT as a member of that year’s Performance Center recruiting class. A linebacker at OSU, Lennox (real name Andrezej Hughes-Murray) was no stranger to wrestling when he arrived on the scene. In high school, Lennox was a four-year letterman and two-year captain of Federal Way High School’s wrestling team. During his senior season, Lennox won the Washington State 4A title at his weight class after amassing a perfect 41-0 record.

Dion Lennox made his NXT debut in August at an NXT house show in a losing effort to Joe Coffey. A house show staple for the next few months, Lennox’ official NXT Level Up debut occurred a few months later in December. He took part in the breakout tournament in a losing effort to Lexis King and continued to appear both on Level Up and at house shows for the rest of the year. In April 2024, after wrestling 16 matches with WWE, Lennox got his first victory in tag team action. His first singles victory came several months later in July as he was victorious on Level Up against Uriah Connors. Lennox began winning a little more consistently and received a chance to wrestle Lee on Main Event in December. Lennox lost the match and lost again in a rematch with Lee in January and that was the last fans had seen from him (outside of a house show appearance in February).

Now that Dion Lennox is back and seemingly in a position of power, all eyes will be on him and his group and how they move forward. Femi seems clearly in his sights given the disrespect from the champ a month ago. Now, it could be Femi’s turn to experience disrespect at the hands of the man he once dismissed.
