WWE Releases Several Superstars Post-Royal Rumble 2025

In unfortunate news, WWE releases a couple of notable names on February 7th 2025, per Fightful Select. One of the prominent names is Sonya Deville. The now-former leader of the Pure Fusion Collective recently only recently celebrated her 10th WWE anniversary, even making her last appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match alongside her stablemates.

According to the same report, WWE informed Deville that her contract was up and would not be renewed, granting her the opportunity to hit the free agency market.

Another WWE female performer was released, with Blair Davenport getting let go from her contract. Davenport has only had 5 matches on the main roster, despite having a solid run on NXT.

However, the WWE releases did not end with them. The Authors of Pain, along with legendary Road Warriors/Legion of Doom manager Paul Ellering, was also let go by the company. AOP was first released in 2020 during the pandemic and was brought back into the fold in 2022. On-screen, they were paired up with Karrion Kross and Scarlett to form “The Final Testament.”

Continuing the WWE releases was 9-year company veteran and former Raw Tag Team and Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander. NXT was the place for Alexander during the late months of 2024 and early part of 2025. In his last televised bout, he was defeated by Ethan Page on January 28th, 2025.

We wish nothing but the best for the superstars included in the latest WWE releases.
