Nikki Bella Returns to WWE During Women's Royal Rumble

Nikki Bella Returns to WWE During Women’s Royal Rumble

On Saturday, Nikki Bella returned to a WWE ring for the first time in three years, doing so in the match that she helped pave the way for, the Women’s Royal Rumble.

As one of the innovators and pioneers of the women’s revolution, Bella’s efforts laid the groundwork for the women’s division moving past divas and into an era of equal opportunity. Nikki Bella, her sister Brie, Paige, AJ Lee, and others truly set the stage for women carving their path in WWE. They opened the door that others like Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, and others have since burst down. The women’s locker room is perhaps the best it’s ever been and Bella expressed wanting to be a part of that again.

Fresh off her stint on The Traitors and having made an appearance during the Raw on Netflix premiere, Bella recently told Us Magazine, “I miss being Nikki Bella. I miss being around that family. I definitely miss being in that ring. When they put me in the crowd that night and to feel the energy and see the Bella Army, whether they were in the crowd or online, it starts to give you those feels.”

Nikki Bella talked about how great it felt being home and having mended fences with WWE before adding, “The women were just, what a great locker room. They were just so awesome and together and one and unity and everyone back there was just so happy. You just tell the energy there right now is just incredible.”

It’s an energy Bella confessed, she wants to experience again in an environment where she believes, she’s “still got it.”

On Saturday, Bella showed just that when she entered the women’s Royal Rumble at number 30. Upon entering, Bella faced off with Nia Jax, who had entered as number 29.

Bella was a part of the final four, although Jax ultimately eliminated her. She had a total of one elimination in this bout – Bayley.

Whether Bella’s Royal Rumble run is the first of more to come, remains to be seen. But on the Road to WrestleMania, having a legend and WWE Hall of Famer like Nikki Bella back in the house is nothing but positive for the company.
