After a tremendous Royal Rumble event that saw two of the best in WWE book their ticket to a championship match at the “grandest stage of them all” WrestleMania 40, comes the fallout on this week’s WWE SmackDown.

Now that we’re pass the Rumble, we’re now officially on the road to the big one this coming April. That said, there’s a lot more ground to cover before we reach the peak of the mountain, and it starts with the inaugural February 2024 edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

It’s going to be an episode for the books filled with action-packed sports entertainment and moments that will leave the WWE Universe on the edge of their seats. With all that out of the way, here’s a preview of the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. Let’s run it down.

  • Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns Will Be Appearing Live
  • Bayley Makes Her Decision Regarding Which Champion She’ll Challenge at WrestleMania 40

The Dream Decision

For the second year in a row, the ‘American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes outlasted 30 men to punch his ticket to WrestleMania 40. While the WWE Universe the decision was clear, regarding who Rhodes will face at ‘Mania, it seems like the number one contender still hasn’t made up his mind. Most assumed he was hellbent on “finishing the story” by tussling with Roman Reigns once more.

However, Seth Rollins had a few good points on WWE Monday Night Raw on the matter of why he should be picked over the “Tribal Chief.” That said, that’s the beauty of the WWE; anything can happen, so fans better tune in. This Friday night, Cody Rhodes makes WrestleMania main event opponent official. Who will he choose?

Damage CTRL(LLED)?

Speaking of Royal Rumble winners, multiple time champion Bayley went through the ringer, coming in at number three only to overcome the odds and book her spot on the ‘biggest yearly event in Sports Entertainment.’ Like Cody, everyone was so sure that she would challenge Rhea Ripley for the WWE World Women’s Championship, leading to Damage CTRL holding all the gold.

This past Monday, it seems like Bayley is having second thoughts. To most of the WWE Universe, this is not at all surprising. Bayley has laid herself on the line multiple times for Damage CTRL. Unfortunately, it always felt like she was the getting slowly ousted from the group she built and helped make extremely successful.

WWE SmackDown will be one heck of a show! Will Bayley proceed as planned and try to pry away the gold Ripley? Or will go for her own stablemate and reign supreme as the WWE Women’s Champion and undisputed Queen of SmackDown?

That and more this Friday night fight night only on Fox!
