Adam Cole or MJF: Who Blinks First?

A photo of MJF and Adam Cole on AEW Dynamite.

It is safe to say that one of the funniest and most entertaining stories this summer has been the blossoming bromance of Adam Cole and MJF. Cole has been an amazing heel in his career but has easily found himself in the good graces of the AEW fans since returning from injury.  MJF on the other hand, has never been the nicest guy, even though the fans can’t get enough of his arrogant scumbaggary.

This all started after a fantastic 30-minute draw for the AEW World Championship a few months back. After this, it was revealed that both men would be forced to tag together in the blind eliminator tournament for the AEW Tag Team Championships. While neither of them liked this very much, it gradually became very clear that these two men had amazing chemistry and slowly but surely seemed to have become best friends, all while Roderick Strong continued to tell Cole he needed to open his eyes because MJF can’t be trusted.

Cole has not listened to reason from Roddy but has shown signs of potentially being the first to turn on his tag team partner and so-called best friend.

A Wink Away from AEW All In London

Now let’s move forward to arguably the biggest wrestling event in history this weekend. There are two prime opportunities for this bromance to implode as they will be teaming up against Aussie Open for the ROH Tag Titles on the Zero Hour pre-show, and then will main event in a one-on-one match for the coveted BBB.

Will this be the end of their friendship? Is there too much on the line this weekend for them to coexist? If they do break up, there are a few options that could happen.  The obvious one is that MJF screws Cole in true MJF fashion.  Another option that isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility is that Cole screws MJF. As mentioned before, Cole has it in him to be a great heel, but fans are not used to MJF being a good guy and it would be a very interesting thing to see unfold.

There is also a good chance we see Roddy and The Kingdom get involved in some way or another to cost someone the match. The obvious move there would be if they help Cole win the title, but an even more interesting swerve might be if they help MJF beat Cole because they are tired of Cole not listening to them so they turn on him.  It would be a very unexpected way to send the fans home and definitely would have people talking for a while.

What are your thoughts on the big night for Cole and MJF? Do the cracks start to form during the tag match? Do they survive that on good terms and then it falls apart during the main event? Who screws who? Or do they both continue to be pals after it is all said and done?
