A match graphic for AEW Battle of the Belts VII.

For the third time this year, All Elite Wrestling presents the seventh edition of AEW Battle of the Belts. On this night in the Calgary Stampede Saddledome in beautiful Calgary, Alberta, #AllElite fans will be treated to a spectacular hour of championship matches galore. So, sit back, and relax, because it’s time for Saturday night fight night! Here’s a preview of this quarter’s Battle of the Belts. Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Battle of the Belts VII Match Card:

  • TNT Championship Match: Luchasaurus (c) vs. Shawn Spears
  • AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Toni Storm (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie
  • AEW International Championship Match: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Lance Archer

The Championship Aspirations of “The Chairman”

Shawn Spears has the chance of a lifetime, in his hometown no less, to secure his first taste of championship gold in AEW, challenging for the TNT Championship that’s held by Luchasaurus. Spears has been left pathless over the past couple of months since he made his return in late 2022. However, “The Chairman” made a huge statement two weeks ago on AEW Rampage, by spectacularly dispatching The Blade.

With that performance, everyone in the locker room, as well as the entire AEW fanbase, was reminded of how good Shawn Spears really is. This Saturday night, Spears not only has the chance to become TNT Champion but also end the reign of Luchasaurus prematurely in his first title defense. Plus, it’s a mighty fine way to stick it to a fellow Canadian in the form of Christian Cage.

Who will walk away with the TNT Title in hand? Will Shawn Spears finally receive his due diligence? Or will Luchasaurus start off his path of destruction in a big way?

Gunning for Gold in the “Great White North”

After falling short multiple times at capturing the TBS Championship, despite her tremendous efforts, Taya Valkyrie receives another opportunity to win gold in AEW as she challenges AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. The champion has been successful in her last four title defenses and has been nothing short of unstoppable.

However, you can’t count Taya out just yet. Valkyrie has won her last two matches and heads into this match as the crowd favorite, being the event will be held in her home country of Canada. Two of the promotion’s elite, one winner. Who will walk away this Saturday night with the hardware? Will Taya Valkyrie finally win the big one in the #AllElite promotion? Or will Toni Storm notch her fifth successful title defense?
