Sending the “God of Pro Wrestling” Back Down to Earth

Suffice it to say, Kenny Omega hasn’t had the best couple of months. The person he looked up to for decades, Don Callis, turned his back on him. A competitor he considered a dear friend, Konosuke Takeshita, would side with the very same man who stabbed him in the back.

To add insult to literal injury, Omega was unsuccessful in retaining the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship back at Forbidden Door, against rival Will Ospreay. Many consider Kenny Omega as one of the best to ever do it. However, even the best fall down sometimes. That said, there’s no rest for the wicked and Omega will need to get his act together as he faces the man who pinned back at Double or Nothing, the killer known as Wheeler Yuta of the BCC this Wednesday.

With his back against the wall, how will Kenny Omega respond?

Gold Rush

The Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament officially commences this Wednesday night, as the first quarterfinals matchup of the tourney will feature AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy, as he partners with former TNT Champion Darby Allin. Their opponents, former AEW World Tag Team Champions, now turned bitter enemies, Keith Lee, and Mogul Affiliates leader Swerve Strickland.

As fans can explicitly see, these two teams have their fair share of problems. Cassidy and Allin have sparingly tagged together, which may leave them at a disadvantage. On the flip side, Swerve and Lee do have experience working together, and a lot of it. But, that it’s way in the rearview mirror, not to mention that tensions are still high between the two.

Nevertheless, all teams competing in this tournament, including AEW World Champion MJF and potential challenger Adam Cole, must set their differences aside. What’s at stake? A shot at the FTR and their AEW World Tag Team Championships. Gold speaks louder than animosity, and for the team who keeps it together long enough; they will punch their ticket to a championship match.

Who will come out on top? Find out and more this Wednesday night, AEW Dynamite only on TBS!
