Preview: WWE Raw Tonight (04/24/23) – Monday Night Raw Card

WWE Raw Tonight - Rey Mysterio vs Damian Priest graphic

The week begins and that can only mean one thing: a WWE Monday Night Raw card. WWE has had a tradition in place that has been rather understated. And that’s the fact that WWE would always hold some sort of major event, Pay-Per-View, Premium Live Event, WWE Network special or Takeover special, one of these would always take place in the Spring from Illinois. Almost all being in Chicago’s All-State Arena with only one exception in 2018. This is the first year to not have one of these from the state of Illinois. In the last few years, May’s PLE was typically from the All-State Arena. So WWE Raw tonight coming here feels like the replacement of such. Since they’re instead heading to Puerto Rico for Backlash next week and Saudi Arabia for their next major show. And finally, Money In The Bank this June being from the UK.

WWE Raw Tonight – Full Card

San Benito Resucita

After being Chokeslammed through a table the Raw after WrestleMania, we all expected him to return. Of course, Backlash is supposed to be hosted by him: Benito Martinez, Bad Bunny. The 29 year old has gone from being the bagger at a supermarket in the middle of the Caribbean, to being one of the biggest celebrities in the world in 7 years. He’s lived all his dreams. And WWE is one of his biggest ones. But one of his biggest allies wound up stabbing him in the back. That being Damian Priest. This after Bad Bunny tried to prevent him and the rest of the Judgment Day from using a chain on Rey Mysterio.

We can obviously expect some sort of match involving The Judgment Day and LWO. We just need it to become official. And more than likely, Bad Bunny will be involved. After all, he’s the big hero coming into this event.

Mysterio vs Priest

Speaking of that LWO vs Judgment Day affair, it’s been made official, Rey Mysterio is set to take on the third male member of The Judgment Day in the form of Damian Priest. This comes after Priest was able to defeat Mysterio and Santos Escobar on Smackdown, by pinning Santos.

Just A Bit More Before Backlash

Just one match and segment have been announced as of this writing. However several matches have been made official for Backlash. Some of which were done with no prior storyline. Such as Seth Rollins vs Omos. Two men who have had absolutely no interaction whatsoever in what feels like a completely cold match announcement.

Also confirmed was Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley both challenging Austin Theory to a Triple Threat match for the United States Championship.  This coming after Bronson Reed interfered in Bobby Lashley’s match with Austin Theory. That in itself coming due to Reed and Lashley’s own match a couple of weeks ago being inconclusive.

There is nothing confirmed yet in regards to Trish Stratus, Lita or Becky Lynch given that Trish revealed herself as Lita’s attacker last week and of course, we saw her betray Becky Lynch after losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

All this and more on WWE Raw tonight as we’re two weeks away from Backlash in Puerto Rico.
