Dark Side of the Ring Season 4 to Premiere on May 30

Dark Side of the Ring, which has covered some of the most infamous and controversial events in wrestling history, is back at it for another round. The fourth season of the Vice TV docuseries will premiere on May 30th at 10 PM ET.

This year, the series will cover many of the most notorious individuals in wrestling, including Abdullah the Butcher, Marty Jannetty, and Tammy “Sunny” Sytch. Plus, an episode will look at Magnum T.A. and the accident that ended his career.

We also know that there will be an episode focused on the Junkyard Dog, which will feature Jim Ross. Ross had previously said that he would no longer be appearing on the show, since he felt some of the editing left him feeling misrepresented.

Those claims aren’t the only controversy that has followed the show. After season three ended, there was a fair degree of speculation about the fate of the series. Last year, there were several rumors that the show had been canceled, with some even speculating that WWE may have been behind a push to end it. Of course, with season four being announced, those rumors turned out to be false.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our viewers for giving this show the life that it has had for the past 4 years,” said executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener. “As lifelong fans of professional wrestling, our subjects continue to inspire us. There are so many fascinating and compelling stories left to tell and it’s a privilege to share more of them in our fourth season.”

Dark Side of the Ring airs in the United States on Vice TV, where it is their most-watched series of all time, and on Crave in Canada. Chris Jericho will return as the narrator for the fourth season. We’ll see if this year brings us an episode as controversial as the Plane Ride from Hell.
