Tonight’s episode of AEW Dark Elevation looks promising, with seven matches announced for this evening! The Lucha Brothers are back in action for the first time since losing the AEW Trio Championship to The Elite; they look to rebound as they face off with Ari Daivari and Tony Nese, as the Varsity Athletes and Trustbusters’ alliance continues to blossom. Juice Robinson is finally gaining momentum under the AEW banner; he hopes to keep it rolling as he takes on Fuego Del Sol. Our focus will be on the ROH Women’s Champion Athena as she faces the debuting Evelyn Carter.

Athena vs. Evelyn Carter

Athena has built an impressive win streak, her last singles loss being to current TBS Champion Jade Cargill at All Out in September of 2022. Evelyn Carter looks to pull off a massive upset in her AEW debut. Carter has made a name for herself in the Texas independent scenes, frequently facing off with competition such as Danni Bee and Miranda Gordy.

This is a significant step up in competition for Carter, and for that reason alone, I wouldn’t say I like her chances. Athena is arguably on the best run of her career, and an upset is always possible; it does not seem anywhere near likely in this scenario. Hopefully, we will see more of Evelyn in the future as she is a promising prospect, but Athena will pick up the win and continue her dominance.
