AEW Rampage Card for February 17, 2023

A Trios Slam Dunk

Following the impressive outing of AR Fox and Top Flight against The Elite last week, the challenging trio appeared in front of The Elite’s basketball game this week on Dynamite to issue a rematch for the AEW Trios Championship. It was accepted after some taunting and now we have ourselves a rematch set for Rampage. However, as The Elite and AR Fox/Top Flight were having their conversation, a graphic showed up on screen. Blink and you’ll miss it, it was related to The House Of Black. Will they be setting their sights on the Trios titles soon?

Absolute Chase For The Rematch

Despite getting the win over Chris Jericho at Winter Is Coming, Ricky Starks has been trying to get a rematch with the leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society. However, the group continues to be a massive obstacle as they repeatedly get in the way. Be as opponents, or by running interference when they cost Starks his gauntlet challenge a few weeks ago on Dynamite. Tonight, he faces the former ROH Pure Champion, Daniel Garcia. To try to yet again, goad Chris Jericho to a rematch.

Victory 51?

In quite the odd one, Vertvixen will challenge Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship on Rampage. Why is that odd? Well, because Vertvixen already lost a title eliminator match. Stepping away from storylines, it’s been very clear since All Out that Jade Cargill was set to lose her TBS title to Kris Statlander before she went down with an injury. And since then, AEW seems to be clear on holding off until Statlander’s return to go back to that idea. As such, we’ve seen Jade very much spinning her wheels like this on TV. It’s become a challenge, to say the very least.

Swerve On The Retirement Tour

Dustin Rhodes has already mentioned plans to retire this year, and we get a rare one on one match from him tonight as he faces Swerve Strickland. Who’s been antagonizing him and any second or third generation wrestler he can think of. Can Dustin slap respect into Swerve? Or will Swerve crash Dustin’s retirement early?
