Preview: AEW Dark (9/6/22) – ROH World Championship Main Event

Claudio Castagnoli Defends ROH World Title on AEW Dark

It’s Tuesday, which means another episode of AEW Dark is upon us. We have a total of seven matches set, including a title match! Julia Hart has quietly built up one of the most impressive winning streaks in the women’s division. She’ll look to keep that going against Missa Kate. Tony Nese and Josh Woods look to make a statement to earn a shot at ranked competition as they take on Storm Grayson and Brandon Gore. Our focus will be on singles action as the ROH World Championship is on the line; Claudio Castagnoli will defend against the leader of The Trustbuster’s Ari Daivari on AEW Dark.

Full AEW Dark Card (9/6/22)

  • Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ari Daivari
  • Serena Deeb vs. Sierra
  • Zack Clayton vs. Serpentico
  • Storm Grayson and Brandon Gore vs. Tony Nese and Josh Woods
  • House of Black’s Julia Hart vs. Missa Kate
  • Laynie Luck vs. Marina Shafir
  • Robert Anthony and GPA vs. Private Party

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ari Daivari

Claudio Castagnoli has been on an incredible run since joining the All Elite Wrestling roster, and he looks to keep that going against Ari Daivari. Daivari’s AEW run started roughly, losing to rising star Dante Martin in his debut, losing various matches on Dark, usually partnered with standout grappler Invictus Khash. In the second half of 2022, Daivari turned a corner; his only loss in singles competition was perennial top contender Orange Cassidy.

Castagnoli, though, has yet to taste defeat inside of an AEW ring, and I do not see that happening tonight. The Trustbusters will, without a doubt, interfere and try to help Daivari pick up the win. Still, I do not see a scenario where Claudio Castagnoli loses ROH world title here, but he will turn in a great match, so be sure to tune into AEW Dark!
