Ruby Soho Claims She May Have More Years Behind Her Than Ahead

Ruby Soho "More Years Behind Me Than Ahead"

All Elite Wrestling star Ruby Soho has wrestled for twelve years. She’s wrestled for various wrestling organizations such as CHIKARA, SHINE, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), WWE, and currently AEW. Soho has been a force to be reckoned with across the wrestling industry. Wrestling fans have followed her career as “Heidi Lovelace” (Indies) and “Ruby Riott” (WWE) before her latest venture into AEW starting in 2021. While Soho doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon, she has admitted that she may have “more years behind her than ahead”.

Soho was interviewed during a recent appearance at Galaxycon. During this interview, Soho talked about taking life outside of the wrestling business a bit more seriously now.

Soho said: “These last couple years are the first years that I have, not like thought about retiring anytime soon or anything, but it’s been about 12 years that I’ve been doing this and I feel it a lot more. It takes a lot more for me to recover from matches than it used to. After each one, I’m hurting a little bit more. It’s just gotten me to start thinking about life after wrestling, which before, I had blinders on, ‘this is what I’m doing.’ I’m not necessarily preparing for it, but I also want to know my interests outside of this. This will still always be the driving force behind everything that I’m doing right now and I love it more than anything I’m going to keep doing it as long as my body will allow me, but I’m held together with toothpicks and bubble gum at this point [laughs]. I think I have more years behind me than ahead of me, but I’m going to do this for as long as I can.”

Ruby Soho last wrestled on AEW Dark: Elevation on August 17th, picking up a victory over Missa Kate via pinfall after connecting with the Destination Unkown. She made an appearance on AEW Rampage this past Friday, as she and Ortiz challenged Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo to a Mixed Tag Team Match.
