Preview: AEW Dark: Elevation (7/4/22) – Shida and Sakazaki in Action

AEW Dark Elevation Feat Hikaru Shida and Yuka Sakazaki

It is time for AEW Dark: Elevation, and with six matches scheduled, these competitors look to deliver fireworks in the ring (see what I did there). Best Friends team up for the first time since March as they take on Isaiah Broner and GPA. Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh look to have another dominant showing as they take on James Alexander and Ren Jones. Our focus will be on tag team action as Hikaru Shida and Yuka Sakazaki face off with Heather Reckless and Laynie Luck on AEW Dark: Elevation.

Heather Reckless and Laynie Luck vs. Hikaru Shida and Yuka Sakazaki

Hikaru Shida is back in an AEW ring for the first time since her loss to Serena Deeb in a Philadelphia Street Fight back in April. She’ll look to regain momentum as she teams up with Yuka Sakazaki, who herself has not been in an AEW ring since late May. Shida and Sakazaki find themselves across the ring from Heather Reckless and Laynie Luck on AEW Dark: Elevation.

While Shida and Sakazaki have been on AEW’s shelf, Reckless is seeing her third consecutive week of action on Elevation. If her opponents experience any form of ring rust, that could give her a slight edge inside the ropes. Though Luck does not have as much experience inside of an AEW ring as her partner, she has still technically been more active inside of it than her opponents.

Even with that, Reckless and Luck are both winless in their AEW outings, so it’s not like they have momentum in their favor. Shida and Sakazaki will remind fans tonight why they earned their All Elite status in the first place. Be sure to tune in tonight as all the action up and down the card promises to be explosive! (I did it again and I’m not sorry!)
