Stardom Announces 2022 5 STAR Grand Prix Participants Featuring 26-Person Field

Stardom has revealed the field for the 2022 5 STAR Grand Prix tournament, which begins at the end of July. The tournament will feature a 26-person field, the biggest in 5 STAR Grand Prix history. Among the names already announced are Suzu Suzuki and Risa Sera of Prominence.

Here’s the list of the 22 confirmed competitors:

– Mayu Iwatani
– Koguma
– Hazuki
– Hanan
– Utami Hayashishita
– Saya Kamitani
– Momo Watanabe
– Saki Kashima
– Starlight Kid
– Giulia
– Maika
– Himeka
– Natsupoi
– Thekla
– Tam Nakano
– Mina Shirakawa
– Unagi Sayaka
– Syuri
– Suzu Suzuki (Prominence)
– Risa Sera (Prominence)

As mentioned, the field this year will be 26. Stardom also announced there will be a mini-tournament in June to decide three of the final four competitors.

– Momo Kohgo
– Hina
– Lady C
– Miyu Amasaki
– Ruaka
– Rina
– Mai Sakurai
– Waka Tsukiyama
– Ami Sourei

Finally, Stardom made clear that the final competitor will be a “special guest” who is announced at a later time. Stardom did the same last year with “X,” who was ultimately revealed to be Takumi Iroha by Saya Kamitani at the 5 STAR Grand Prix press conference. There’s no sign as to who it will be but with KAIRI returning to Stardom earlier this year, she has to be the leading candidate.

The 2022 5 STAR Grand Prix kicks off with a two-night event on July 30 and 31. The tournament will conclude on October 1.
