Preview: NJPW STRONG: RIVALS Night 3

RIVALS Night 3

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) continues the RIVALS tour this week on NJPW STRONG. NJPW STRONG: RIVALS Night 3 has three matches scheduled, headlined by the return of Ren Narita taking on Buddy Matthews. We will also see Blake Christian take on Chris Bey and a six-man tag match. Let’s see what NJPW has in store for us this weekend.

Keita, DKC & Fred Yehi vs. Stray Dog Army (Misterioso, Bateman & Barrett Brown)

Stray Dog Army returns to an NJPW Strong ring hungry for a win. The trio has not picked up a win in a STRONG ring since the Summer Struggle tour in August of 2021. Although they have the edge in terms of length of time tagging together, the STRONG ring has not been kind to the three members of SDA. They will have a tough test ahead of them as they step into the ring against Keita, DKC, and Fred Yehi. Will Stray Dog Army get back on the winning path? Or will the team of Keita, DKC, and Fred Yehi hand Stray Dog Army another loss? Find out at NJPW STRONG: RIVALS Night 3.

Blake Christian vs. Chris Bey

Two fast, athletic, and high-flying wrestlers will square off in the second match of the night as Blake Christian takes on Chris Bey. Christian was last in a STRONG ring in March of 2021 during the Strong Style Evolved tour. Chris Bey was last in a STRONG ring during the Nemesis tour where he and Hikuleo picked up a win on tag team action over Jordan Clearwater and Keita Murray. Although Christian has not been in a STRONG ring in quite some time, he is not to be taken lightly. Don’t blink in this one, find out who gets their hand raised this weekend.

Ren Narita vs. Buddy Matthews

Ren Narita will square off with Buddy Matthews in the main event of the evening. Narita competed in the biggest match of his career back in January when he took on Katsuyori Shibata. This will be the second time he steps into a STRONG ring in 2022 when he lost to Josh Barnett during the New Beginning USA Tour. He will welcome Buddy Matthews who step into a STRONG ring for the first time ever. Matthews has stepped into an NJPW ring once at Battle of the Valley. He took on Kazuchika Okada in losing effort against
“The Rainmaker”. Matthews would love nothing more than to add a win to his NJPW record at NJPW STRONG: RIVALS Night 3.
