Big E Suffers Broken Neck on Friday Night SmackDown

Big E Suffers Broken Neck

Tonight, on the March 11th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Big E suffered a broken neck. On this show, Big E teamed with fellow New Day member Kofi Kingston against Sheamus and Ridge Holland, both of whom were accompanied by Butch, formerly known as Pete Dunne. The injury occurred when “The Powerhouse of Positivity” took a belly-to-belly suplex on the floor outside the ring from Holland. Big E was stretchered out afterward and uploaded a video to Twitter at 9:55 PM, saying quote:

“I can’t thank all of you beautiful people enough for all of your concern, your messages, it’s very heartwarming. I can still move my digits, that’s always a good thing. Strength feels fine. But unfortunately, right now they tell me my neck is broken, so there’s that. But once again, thank you, everybody, I’m gonna be alright, I’ll be good, don’t worry.”

It is unknown at this juncture how this will affect whatever plans WWE had for Big E and/or the New Day at WrestleMania. Things were seemingly headed toward a match or confrontation with the team of Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and the newly debuted Pete Dunne, now known as Butch. Given how soon this broken neck injury has occurred, it’s unknown when Big E will be back to in-ring competition.
