Preview: AEW Dark (3/1/22) – The Acclaimed vs. Jack and Izzolena

AEW Dark The Acclaimed B Jack Donovan Izzolena

It’s time for AEW Dark! They’ve loaded up the card tonight with a total of ten matches, including Dante Martin looking to rebound from his loss to Powerhouse Hobbs; he will be squaring off A.H.F.O.’s Jack Evans. Also, on the card, Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta face-off with The Factory’s Aaron Solo and Nick Comoroto. Our focus on this week’s Dark will be on tag-team action as The Acclaimed will take on the debuting B. Jack and “The Don” Donovan Izzolena.

The Acclaimed vs B. Jack and Donovan Izzolena

The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) look to continue their incredible run on AEW Dark as they take on the debuting B. Jack (known on the indies as Blaqtus Jack) and Donovan Izzolena. Bowens and Caster have been a staple for AEW’s tag team division since they debuted, but 2022 might go down as their true breakout year. So far, they have only tasted defeat once, which was against Darby Allin and Sting, who have yet to taste defeat in tag-team action.

Suffice it to say, B. Jack and Donovan have been dealt a tough hand in their debut. To my knowledge and research, these two men have no history of teaming together and against a team like The Acclaimed that will factor heavily into the match. B. Jack is much more athletic than he looks and has been an active competitor on the southern independent scene since 2019.

While he hasn’t been active as long as his partner, Donovan Izzolena is a prospect to keep an eye on. “The Don,” as he’s often called, is very athletic and compliments his versatile offense. However, that sadly won’t be enough to overcome The Acclaimed’s combined chemistry and momentum as they will continue their impressive run in this match. I do fully expect to see both B. Jack and Izzolena back in an AEW ring sooner rather than later.
