ChocoPro #206 is the final show of Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling’s most recent three-day sprint and it’s an important show, to be certain. On this episode, Yuna Mizumori celebrates her fourth year in professional wrestling. She made her official in-ring debut four years ago today and since that time, she has become one of the most notable stars in the company, not to mention a budding star in professional wrestling in general. On this celebratory episode, three matches will take place. Without any further delay, here’s what to expect.
ChocoPro #206 Full Card
SAKI and Baliyan Akki vs. Yuko Sakurai and Shin Suzuki
Opening ChocoPro #206 will be a tag team contest between SAKI and former Asia Dream Tag Team Champion Baliyan Akki against the makeshift duo of Yuko Sakurai and Shin Suzuki. Though Akki is still reeling from his and Mei Suruga’s tag team title loss, he was able to somewhat rebound on the previous episode, picking up a victory over SAKI and Sayaka Obihiro. It’s important to note that Akki, the self-proclaimed “Ace” of ChocoPro, is still the Super Asia Champion. On this show, an opponent becomes an ally as he works alongside SAKI, who joshi wrestling enthusiasts may know from COLOR’S Girl’s Prowrestling Unit.
Another COLOR’S representative appearing in this match is Sakurai, who’s also made recent appearances for promotions such as Diana, Ice Ribbon, and even Gatoh Move, wrestling on multiple ChocoPro shows. As “The Venus” of COLOR’S, Sakurai is a power-based wrestler, utilizing her strength to be a formidable opponent against various foes. On ChocoPro #206, she teams with the newest regular of Ichigaya Chocolate Square, Suzuki. As he’s been given the stamp of approval by the founding member of Gatoh Move, Emi Sakura, expect Suzuki to become an even greater presence in the episodes to follow.
Rina Yamashita and Sayaka Obihiro vs. Calamari Drunken Kings (Masahiro Takanashi and Chris Brookes)
Also in action on ChocoPro #206 are the new Asia Dream Tag Team Champions, Calamari Drunken Kings. Masahiro Takanashi and Chris Brookes are only a few days removed from their recent title victory, but they’re not a duo to rest on their laurels for too long. Furthermore, CDK have shown respect toward the purple belts, with Brookes even claiming it was one of the most important titles of his career because of what Best Bros were able to do with them. It remains to be seen when they’ll make their first title defense, but on this episode, they’ll be set for nontitle competition.
This won’t be an easy match for the new tag team champions, however, as they’ll face “The Blue Heart” Sayaka Obihiro and deathmatch wrestling specialist Rina Yamashita. “Obi-san” has become a more regular ChocoPro competitor in recent episodes, showcasing her technical expertise and agility against a variety of opponents. As mentioned earlier, she’s coming off a loss against SAKI and Baliyan Akki. Meanwhile, Yamashita has kept busy in Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS, SEAdLINNNG, and elsewhere, living up to her reputation as one of the hottest freelancers in Japanese wrestling today. See how this tag team unfolds on the official Gatoh Move YouTube channel.
Yuna Mizumori vs Ken Ohka
In the main event, Yuna Mizumori celebrates four years in professional wrestling with a main event encounter. For those unfamiliar with “Yunamon’s” extensive wrestling career, she wrestled her first official match on February 28, 2018, taking on her trainer, Emi Sakura. Since then, Mizumori has become one of Gatoh Move’s brightest stars, boasting multiple Asia Dream Tag Team Championship reigns and being crowned one-half of the first One of a Kind Tag League winners, just to name a few accolades. Her strength-based offense is only matched by her showmanship, the idol turned wrestler often serenading viewers before matches. To ring in this landmark anniversary, she takes on DDT Ganbare Pro representative Ken Ohka.
For those that don’t know, Ohka serves as the figurehead of Ganbare Pro, taking it upon himself to start the brand in question. He’s also an incredibly accomplished star within the confines of DDT, being a former KO-D Tag Team Champion, Openweight Champion, and Six-Man Tag Team Champion, among other accomplishments. Mizumori appeared on multiple Ganbare Pro events since the brand’s inception, so it should go without saying that this main event holds importance to her. She’s grown tremendously as a wrestler over the past four years, but will this experience be enough to overcome the spirited nature of Ohka?
ChocoPro #206 will air on February 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM JST (February 27, 2022 at 8:00 PM EST).
