First Matches Set For NJPW STRONG RIVALS

NJPW STRONG RIVALS

NJPW STRONG has announced the first matches for the RIVALS event, which will take place on February 17th in Vermont in Hollywood.

NJPW STRONG RIVALS: First Matches Announced

Ren Narita vs. Buddy Matthews

Buddy Matthews debuted on STRONG by facing Kazuchika Okada at Battle in the Valley this past November. Now he returns to NJPW’s blue ring as he faces young and hungry Ren Narita. After a good showing against The Rainmaker, Matthews wants to continue making his presence known by targeting Narita. The LA Dojo representative began 2022 by taking on his mentor, Katsuyori Shibata in the Tokyo Dome and is scheduled to meet former IWGP Heavyweight title challenger and MMA legend, Josh Barnett. Now Narita will take on all the different challenges presented by Matthews.

Gabriel Kidd vs. Christopher Daniels

Since his NJPW STRONG debut, Kidd has faced more experienced veterans of the square circle such as Jonathan Gresham, Eddie Kingston, and Fred Rosser. Now he will have an opportunity to test himself against Christopher Daniels, who has decades of experience under his belt.

Jay White’s U-S-of-Jay Open Challenge

Jay White continues to challenge anyone brave enough to step into the ring with him. Who will answer Jay White’s challenge as he looks to take on America’s greatest Pro Wrestlers?

Bad Dude Tito & JONAH vs. David Finlay & Juice Robinson

Bad Dude Tito will make his NJPW STRONG debut by teaming up with powerful JONAH, as they take on FinJuice. This will be the meeting of the experienced tag-team and unstoppable duo of menacing individuals. Will FinJuice come out victorious, or weight and power advantage of Tito and Jonah be too big to overcome?
