WALTER will make his final NXT UK appearance this week before heading to the US full time. We unpack what to expect from WALTER’S Last Stand and preview everything else on this week’s NXT UK.

NXT UK Announced Card (01/13/21) – WALTER’S Last Stand

  • WALTER vs. Nathan Frazer
  • NXT UK Tag Team No.1 Contender Eliminator Match: Die Familie vs. Dave Mastiff & Jack Starz

WALTER’s Last Stand

We always knew it would be hard for NXT UK to keep hold of WALTER forever. The moment “The Ring General” arrived at the climax of NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool the wrestling world hasn’t stopped talking about him. WALTER’S legend grew during his 870 day NXT UK Championship reign as he became the face of NXT UK.

He was featured in the US more often and was even included in the 2019 men’s Survivor Series match. WALTER wrestled sparingly in 2021 but still managed to have sensational bouts with Tommaso Ciampa and Ilja Dragunov. Both took place in Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center – a clear indication that the Austrian would likely be moving to the US for good.

But before he leaves the UK he will take on Nathan Frazer. Frazer has been hyped as the future of British wrestling but WALTER is not impressed. See the below video for WALTER’S final NXT UK promo which features a very British put-down about extracting urine.

NXT UK Tag Team No.1 Contender Elimination Match

Die Familie will go head-to-head with Jack Starz & Dave Mastiff in the latest NXT UK Tag Team No.1 Contender elimination match. The winners will face Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter in the next round. The losers will get nothing. A shot at Moustache Mountain’s NXT UK Tag Team Championship is the ultimate prize for the team that outlasts the rest.

We expect Die Familie to compete with its more experienced Teoman and Rohan Raja pairing. But newly-acquired family member Charlie Dempsey is likely to play a vital role.

More, Any More!

We should get another contest on top of Walter’s Last Stand and the tag match. Stevie Turner antagonized Amale last week when she agreed with Jinny’s declaration that she was pathetic. Turner and Amale will go one-on-one at one point and all fingers point to this week.
