Preview: AEW Rampage (12/17/21) – The Elite vs Best Friends

The Elite vs Best Friends

Hot off the heels of Winter Is Coming, wherein the spectacular AEW World Championship match ended in a 60-minute draw and “The Salt of the Earth” made history, AEW Rampage amps up the excitement this coming Friday night. It might be the Holiday season but All Elite Wrestling action continues to heat up our TV screens with some spectacular wrestling week in and week out. This episode will be no different as we let rampage run rampant. The Elite and Best Friends will take center stage this Friday night!

On this week’s edition of Rampage, Two huge tag-team matches have been sanctioned, involving the best and brightest wrestlers in the world. It promises a chaotic and fun time. Two of AEW’s top Women’s competitors battle it out submission for submission to determine who can outlast the other. Last but not least, love him or hate him, the father of the American Top Team is back in AEW to speak his mind. Without further ado, we know you are all excited! Let’s get the ball rolling as we run it down.

The “Best Friends” Are Back

Trent? made a triumphant come back last week on AEW Dynamite accompanied by his mother Sue. Everyone was ecstatic when they saw Chuck Taylor’s partner in crime back and better than ever after a long time on the shelf. Trent made the save for Best Friends after a hellacious match between The Young Bucks and his stablemates Chuck Taylor and Rocky Romero. Trent cleaned house as he dispatched The Elite and “gave the people what they want” as they hugged in the center of the ring with his fellow CHAOS contingents to cap off this amazing return.

This “feel good” moment wouldn’t last long though. Two days later on Rampage, Adam Cole would have his revenge. In front of his brothers, Wheeler Yuta got hit by The Boom in devastating fashion as Cole picked up the win. Immediately after the match, The Elite pounced like rabid dogs and proceeded to dismantle the Best Friends. They hit Orange Cassidy with the low blow. On top of that, they made each and every one of the CHAOS members watch as they hit Trent, fresh off his return and surgery, with a three-way BTE Trigger. It only took a week for this to get personal, and personal it has been. These two teams will go to war and it will surely be a clash you would not want to miss. It all goes this Friday night on TNT!

May The Best Woman Win

Tay Conti has had enough and she wants to settle it all in the ring. No underhanded tactics, just competition in its purest form. Conti has been a high-level athlete for most of her life and she is sick of the thought that the “Super Bad Girl” Penelope Ford and The Bunny would handle business as they have. The brass knuckles have been constantly employed in this long-running rivalry as Ford and The Bunny would win matches with the Knuckleduster. Anna Jay and Conti find themselves on the receiving end more often than not.

Tay proposed a Submission Match which Penelope mightily accepted. Ford pointed out the fact that she’s been using the destructive Muta Lock to finish off her opponents. She’s not afraid to go toe to toe with the Brazilian Judo expert. With that being said, Tay is just not any competitor. Conti has shown that she’s more than capable to rise to the occasion when need be. Two women with a bone to pick, perhaps quite literally and it all comes to ahead only on AEW Rampage!
