AEW Revolution is the next pay-per-view on the calendar for the hottest wrestling company in recent memory. While the show might still be a few months away, stories are starting to take shape and develop that will seem to foreshadow the future matches that are set for the show. Nonetheless, let’s get these AEW Revolution card predictions underway!
AEW Revolution Card Predictions
Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match – Miro vs. Ricky Starks vs. Eddie Kingston vs. Dante Martin vs. Lio Rush vs. PAC
Although last year’s Face Of The Revolution ladder match was very off track and disappointing in my eyes, I feel like the stipulation could get back on track with the addition of guys like Dante Martin, Lio Rush, and PAC. Those are all guys that could turn an average ladder match into one of the better ones.
That being said, I think Ricky Starks needs to win this match. He is definitely one of the best young talents that AEW has to offer, and he’s honestly even better than some of the “pillars” of the company. Starks and Team Taz in general have felt rather unimportant recently and that needs to change.
Prediction: Ricky Starks
The Pinnacle (FTR & MJF) vs. Dark Order (Silver, Reynolds, and 10) – AEW Trios Championship Finals
The notion that AEW should introduce Trios titles soon is one that’s absolutely correct. There’s a few select stars (specifically MJF in this situation) that have needed to hold a title for the longest time, and this is the opportunity to pull the trigger.
The story writes itself here. The Pinnacle dominate one side of the tournament, while the Dark Order pull out some close wins in tough matchups to lead up to the finals. In the end though, The Pinnacle will pull it out and make the faction valuable again.
Prediction: The Pinnacle
Jade Cargill vs. Brandi Rhodes – TBS Championship match
Brandi Rhodes showed a strong desire to come back to in-ring competition during the Rhodes To The Top reality series. Rhodes will probably come back to kick off 2022 and rack up a few wins before challenging Jade Cargill to a TBS Championship match.
I feel that Cargill is going to be undefeated for a long while, and Rhodes is an opponent that doesn’t really need to be kept strong. I don’t have high hopes for the in-ring aspect of the match, but the story could play off the history between the two women.
Prediction: Jade Cargill
Lucha Bros vs. Santana and Ortiz – AEW World Tag Team Championship match
Santana and Ortiz continue to be a misused entity in AEW these days, which is unfortunate given that they seemed to be positioned for a top spot in the tag division given their residence in the Inner Circle.
When it comes time for Revolution though, Santana and Ortiz should be challenging for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Teams like FTR, the Young Bucks, and Jurassic Express have all had their time in the spotlight and it’s time to give Santana and Ortiz their deserved title run. The Lucha Bros are rather untouchable when it comes to winning or losing, so the loss doesn’t affect them here.
Prediction: Santana and Ortiz
Malakai Black vs. Jon Moxley
If Jon Moxley is able to come back in time for Revolution, Malakai Black could be a suitable feud for him — not to mention that the match would be insane.
That being said, Malakai should win this and score a big victory over an established name.
Prediction: Malakai Black
Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk
CM Punk will be the one to send Cody Rhodes over the edge and effectively turn him heel. Nobody has challenged Rhodes on the microphone like Punk will, and Punk will tell the truth about Rhodes and the past few months of his career.
Rhodes very rarely wins on pay-per-view and to solidify his heel turn, he will beat Punk with some form of cheating.
Prediction: Cody Rhodes
Bryan Danielson vs. Sammy Guevara – TNT Championship match
After Danielson fails to capture the AEW World Championship, he will move on to the TNT Title. I don’t see Danielson’s “heel turn” lasting very long after the program with Hangman, as he will win the TNT title from Guevara and go on a “fighting champion” type run.
Prediction: Bryan Danielson
Hangman Adam Page vs. Adam Cole – AEW World Championship match
The story of Adam Page vs. The Elite will continue at Revolution, as Adam Cole will challenge for the AEW World Title.
As much as it hurts to say, Adam Page will lose the AEW title here and will go back on the never-ending chase to be the “best”. Cole takes the title and continues the split between the Bucks, Kenny Omega, and himself.
This story is far from over and still has multiple layers to unpeel.
Prediction: Adam Cole
Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa – Steel Cage or I Quit match for the AEW Women’s World Championship
The next chapter in the Britt Baker/Thunder Rosa should be a big one, one that sees the women main event a pay-per-view in a big stipulation match.
A Steel Cage match is the more obvious route due to the constant inference in Baker’s matches from Rebel (not Reba) and Jamie Hayter, but an I Quit match could create a memorable PPV moment.
Either way, Thunder Rosa needs to win the belt here. It has avoided her for far too long, and a main event match will be the chance to pull the trigger.
Prediction: Thunder Rosa
