Ryo Mizunami Returns in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match on AEW Dark: Elevation!

This week’s episode of Dark: Elevation features a six-woman tag team match between Ryo Mizunami, KiLynn King, and Red Velvet and the team of Nyla Rose, Emi Sakura, and Diamante.

Japanese star Mizunami has been making occasional appearances for AEW since wrestling at the first Double or Nothing in 2019. At that PPV, she teamed with Hikaru Shida and Riho to defeat Yuka Sakazaki, Emi Sakura, and Aja Kong.

She returned to AEW this year, where she participated in the Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament. She defeated Maki Ito, Kong, Sakazaki, and Nyla Rose to win the tournament before falling to then-champion Shida at AEW Revolution. Since then she’s been a semi-regular on Dark: Elevation, teaming with and facing off against “Legit” Leyla Hirsch as well as participating in a number of multi-woman tags.

Mizunami’s partners for this match are KiLynn King and Red Velvet, who have some experience working together. They were in the NWA Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament at the EmPowerr PPV,  where they defeated Jazzy Yang and Miranda Gordy in the first round, before losing to The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Belle) in the finals.

With AEW’s women’s roster continuing to grow and with the addition of TBS Championship, it wouldn’t be shocking to see AEW introduce a Women’s Tag Team Championship in the near future. Check out the six-woman tag team match and more on this week’s edition of AEW Dark: Elevation!
