Anthony Greene Competing on AEW Dynamite, Teaming With Bear Country

Anthony Greene

Anthony Greene, former NXT superstar August Grey, is set to make his All Elite Wrestling (AEW) television debut Wednesday night as he will team with Bear Country‘s Bear Bronson and Bear Boulder to take on the team of Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston, and Jon Moxley. Greene has previously appeared for the promotion as part of the AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios. He teamed with Stallion Rogers in a losing effort against FTR.

Anthony Greene was released earlier this year from WWE after signing a contract with the company in August 2020. Greene wrestled mostly on 205 Live before his release on June 25. Since his release, Greene has returned to the independent wrestling scene where he made a name for himself from the start. The Massachusetts native has mostly competed in the New England area, competing in a number of matches for Limitless Wrestling. He defeated AEW standout Daniel Garcia for the Limitless World Championship this past weekend on Dec. 25. His most notable non-AEW appearance came on Black Label Pro’s Ground Control To Filthy Tom, where he lost to Big Beef in singles action.

Before signing with WWE in 2020, Greene made a name for himself in both EVOLVE and Beyond Wrestling, being a standout as “Retro” Anthony Greene. As we have seen with these thrown-together groups who face off with Allin, Moxley, and Kingston, there is a chance they could come together to make a solid group moving forward. 2point0 and Garcia proved that to be the case, so maybe Greene and Bear Country could do the same.
