Cody Rhodes Return
Cody has been out of action since the August 4th edition of AEW Dynamite. The landscape of AEW has changed dramatically in that time, with big signings coming in and shaking the promotion to its core. Additionally, in Cody’s time away from the ring, Malakai – the star who put Cody on the shelf (within storyline, as he was actually away to film new reality TV series, Rhodes to the Top) – has been destroying the Nightmare Factory and just last night, he took out Cody’s brother, Dustin Rhodes. With the big return now officially confirmed, Cody will now be seeking to enact revenge on a man who, quite simply, dominated Cody in his last match. Malakai still has Cody’s wrestling boot – symbolism designed to show Malakai’s dominance over the Nightmare Factory and, more specifically, Cody.
All Elite Wrestling is as hot as it has ever been right now and it is unclear where Cody fits in post-Malakai feud. Cody is still viewed as a big star within the company and is, of course, a key player behind the scenes. In a company now brimmed to the max with top babyface stars, Cody might need to do something nightmarish to stand out amongst the pack once more.
