It’s time to ring in a new season of NWA Powerrr. This past weekend was a major one for the National Wrestling Alliance, as two events emanated from The Chase in St. Louis, Missouri. Saturday’s NWA EmPowerrr, which was the company’s first pay-per-view to feature entirely women’s wrestlers, was nothing short of groundbreaking. The Sunday after, the company celebrated its 73rd anniversary with the event aptly named NWA 73. There was much to see and experience across both shows, which we will touch on here. From Kenzie Paige vs Chelsea Green to an NWA World Television Championship bout, here’s what to expect heading into NWA Powerrr tonight at 6:05 PM EST on FITE.

Kenzie Paige vs Chelsea Green
In women’s action will be Kenzie Paige taking on the NWA Women’s Invitational Cup winner, Chelsea Green. IMPACT Wrestling‘s “Hot Mess” won the aforementioned cup at NWA EmPowerrr, entering the match at number 1 and making it all the way to the end. This victory afforded Green an NWA World Women’s Championship match the following evening at NWA 73. On this night, Green challenged Kamille, who successfully defended the title against “Legit” Leyla Hirsch at EmPowerrr. Despite a valiant effort from Green, she was unable to best the “Brickhouse.” Green’s time in the NWA isn’t done, however; on NWA Powerrr, she will face the pink streak-haired Tennesse native, Kenzie Paige. The “Princess” has a few NWA matches under her belt in 2021, including a victory over Lady Frost during The Champions Series earlier this month. Can Paige continue her momentum by overcoming the NWA Women’s Invitational Cup winner?
Trevor Murdoch Speaks
The main event of NWA 73 saw a destiny realized. In what could best be described as his last stand, Trevor Murdoch challenged Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. The stipulation of this match was that if Murdoch lost, he would retire from professional wrestling. Murdoch put forth his best effort, giving “The National Treasure” everything he had and then some. Following one final bulldog from the top rope, the blue-collar brawler defeated “The Dealer” himself, claiming the NWA Worlds Heavyweight title in front of a supportive audience, his family included. On tonight’s edition of NWA Powerrr, Murdoch will speak as the new top champion of the National Wrestling Alliance. What will “The Outlaw” have to say? Will his speech be interrupted by Aldis, his faction in Strictly Business, or perhaps even a new challenger? Tune into FITE tonight to find out.
Tyrus Defends His Gold
Compared to Chelsea Green and Trevor Murdoch, current NWA World Television Champion Tyrus had a less eventful weekend. At NWA 73, “The Mastodon of Mayhem” teamed with Jordan Clearwater and Scion the Mystery Man in a winning effort against The End and former NWA World Television titleholder Pope. Even in a nontitle affair, Tyrus was able to leave NWA’s anniversary pay-per-view a winner. He will be in action tonight on NWA Powerrr, where he defends his title for the very first time. It’s unknown who will step up to the plate, though given Tyrus’s dominant nature even before winning the title, a victory won’t come easily. Check out NWA Powerrr to see who’s brave enough to challenge the champion.
