Preview: AEW Dark: Elevation (08/23/21) – Promise Braxton Returns

Promise Braxton Returns to take on Tay Conti

AEW Dark: Elevation is looking to keep the momentum going following CM Punk’s debut on Rampage: The First Dance, on Friday night by presenting five matches. You’ll see Tay Conti in action, The Varsity Blonds in tag team action, and more! Here’s a rundown of the announced card:

AEW Dark Elevation Full Card (8/23/21)

  • Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, & Wheeler Yuta (w/ Kris Statlander) vs. The Blade & TH2 (Angelico & Jack Evans) w/ The Bunny
  • Dante Martin vs. Anthony Bowens
  • Promise Braxton vs. Tay Conti
  • Warren Johnson & Zack Mason vs. The Varsity Blondes (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison, w/ Julia Hart)
  • Dark Order’s Evil Uno, Alan “5” Angels, & Colt Cabana vs. Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero M, & Rey Fenix, w/ Alex Abrahantes)

Dante Martin vs. Anthony Bowens on Dark: Elevation

Dante Martin has made 2021 his breakout year. He’s turned in incredible performances in recent weeks, including in a trios match with The Sydal Brothers against The Elite. He’s come a long way in a relatively short period of time, and this week on Dark: Elevation, he’ll be facing off against The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens.

Anthony Bowens, like Dante Martin until recently, is known mainly as a tag team wrestler, but that was thrown up in the air when his tag partner, Max Caster, allegedly got in hot water over his entrance rap for a match on the 100th episode of Dark. Caster has not been seen on the programming a result of that incident, leaving Bowens as a singles wrestler, at least for now.

Anthony Bowens is no slouch, though. He worked on the indie scene for several years before coming to AEW, including for promotions like Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and IMPACT. Will he make the transition to singles wrestling in AEW as smoothly as Dante Martin has? Check out what is sure to be a stellar match between the two on AEW Dark: Elevation!

Promise Braxton Returns

AEW Dynamite was recently held in Texas which brings us the return of Texas independent wrestling standout Promise Braxton who will be taking on Tay Conti.  Conti is likely to get the win over the ROW Diamonds Division Champion but Braxton gets another shot to showcase her immense potential.
