AEW Dynamite Results: In-Depth Match Analysis

The Elite vs. Matt Sydal, Dante Martin, & Mike Sydal

The high-flying trio of the Sydal brothers and Dante Martin teamed up to face The Elite’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks in the opener of Dynamite. What was made clear is that Matt Sydal remains one of the best high-flyers in all of wrestling after all these years as he got the most shine out of anyone on the non-Elite team. Martin also showed some flashes with his immense athleticism featuring a picture-perfect crossbody. He even reversed a Snap Dragon Suplex from Omega with a backflip that got the Pittsburgh crowd on their feet. Martin was the one to take the hot tag and looked like a star in the close. It was shocking how great Martin looked seeing that The Elite consists of the AEW World Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Unfortunately for Martin, a knee from Nick Jackson began to spell the end. Omega hit a soul-taking V-Trigger on Martin that looked to be the end. Martin showed a fight by reversing Omega twice again but a One-Winged Angel into a BTE V-Trigger was the ultimate death for the young star. If AEW’s goal was to show the world how good Martin can be, then they nailed it. The first half of this match was missable but once Martin got in the ring on the hot tag, the game picked up and it made for a fantastic close to cap off the first match of the night. People can dislike The Elite all they want but they never fail to deliver when they team up together. They made a match with Dark regulars feel so important.
