Preview: AEW Dynamite (7/21/21) – Fyter Fest Night Two

Dr Britt Baker Nyla Rose AEW Fyter Fest

Night One of Fyter Fest is in the books and what a night it was. All Elite Wrestling already has another big-time show lined up with AEW Fyter Fest: Night Two; yet another special edition of AEW Dynamite that fans will not soon forget. Everything’s bigger in Texas, as they say. But, come Wednesday Night, AEW has the biggest matches for the “Lone Star State” natives and millions watching around the world.

The newly-crowned AEW Women’s World Champion, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., will be put to the test in her first title defense against the “Native Beast”, Nyla Rose. The trials begin for one very determined legend in his quest to finally achieve vindication. Lastly, of course, a “Texas Death Match” in Texas, no less – which takes place for one of the richest prizes in not only Japan, but all around the wrestling world. With a lot more to watch out for considering how AEW always has a nice surprise up their sleeve, it’s that time of the week again. “It’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means!”. Time for some Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Dynamite Card:

  • Orange Cassidy (w/Kris Statlander) vs. The Blade (w/The Bunny)
  • Frankie Kazarian vs. Doc Gallows
  • The 5 Labors of Jericho: Chapter 1: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Spears – “Spears Can Use A Chair, Jericho Can’t”
  • IWGP United States Title Match – Texas Death Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Lance Archer (w/Jake “The Snake” Roberts)
  • AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (c) (w/Rebel) vs. Nyla Rose (w/Vickie Guerrero)

The First Chapter

“Le Champion” Chris Jericho is taking on his first test in his quest to face MJF once more on Night Two of Fyter Fest. As Jericho will take on “The Chairman” Shawn Spears with the stipulation that Spears can use a foreign object, namely his signature steel chair, and Jericho cannot. Chris had to have known that it will not be a fair fight from the get-go, considering he practically made a deal with the devil. But, he is so hellbent on getting his hands on Maxwell Jacob Friedman that he no longer cares what he has to endure to get to that point. The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle have been at it each other’s throats the moment MJF, inevitably, betrayed Chris Jericho and his band of brothers.

Calling the animosity between the factions “personal” would be criminally understating the fact that this war keeps on getting bigger and more violent with each passing moment. MJF will throw everything at Jericho just to ensure he will never have the chance to face “The Salt Of The Earth” ever again. Jericho should be ready because this is just the first of the five trials he will have to go through. Will Chris Jericho mark down the first win in this series, or will Shawn Spears cut it tragically short and end Jericho’s Revenge Tour early at AEW Fyter Fest Night Two?

Big Fight In The “Big D”

The IWGP U.S. Champion Jon Moxley will have his hands full as he defends his title against a familiar foe in “The Murderhawk Monster”, Lance Archer. These two reignite their rivalry from all those years ago, over the same prize that started this conflict in the first place; the IWGP United States Championship. These two tore the house down on Night One of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s premier event, Wrestle Kingdom 14.

They’re looking to do it again on Night Two of Fyter Fest in the very same match type Moxley won to start his second reign and pry away the U.S. Title from Archer, which is a “Texas Death Match”. Jon seemingly has the deck stacked against him as he defended the title on Night One of Fyter Fest just last week retaining the title against “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson. Thus, Achieving his fifth straight successful title defense, the most in the title’s short history.

“The Death Rider” has had a hefty few weeks. Not to mention, he’s battling a six-foot-eight, 273-pound wrecking ball in Lance Archer. But, Moxley shows no fear and accepted the challenge; stating that Archer might be “Texas Born and Bred” but, come Wednesday night, he’s as good as “Texas Dead”. Will Lance Archer take exception and absolutely annihilate the paradigm-shifting mad man en route to recapturing the title? Or Will Jon Moxley make it an even six successful title defenses and take the big man out in Dallas? Tune in to Night Two of AEW Fyter Fest on AEW Dynamite this Wednesday to find out!
