Brian Cage vs Ricky Starks Announced For July 14 AEW Dynamite

Team Taz (Taz, Hook, Brian Cage, Will Hobbs, Ricky Starks)

Ahead of tonight’s AEW Dynamite Team Taz was hyping some breaking news for the group.  During the show itself, it was revealed via a backstage promo involving Taz, Hook, and Powerhouse Hobbs that Brian Cage will wrestle a medically cleared Ricky Starks in Starks’ first match back from injury on the July 14 edition of AEW Dynamite in Texas.

Team Taz has not been a cohesive unit for some time now in AEW with Brian Cage growing tired of some of the group’s underhanded tactics that they employ in matches.  Tensions have been rising as this miscommunication is costing the group matches, particularly important matches against names like Hangman Page.  While Cage has been growing annoyed with his teammates he hasn’t snapped yet, likely due to the his leading antagonist Starks being injured.

Taz’s solution to these issues within his group is to have Starks and Cage duke it out in the ring, with the aim presumably being to allow both men to get out their anger in the ring and leave it all in the ring so they can go back to working together in Team Taz. Whether that works out for Taz or not remains to be seen but we won’t complain at getting an important match as AEW heads back to the road for TV.
