Brian Pellegatto Gone From WWE

WWE audience has evolved

As per PWInsider.com, Brian Pellegatto has been let go by the WWE. Though an unfamiliar name to all but the most hardcore of WWE fan, Pellegatto has been the Senior Vice President (SVP) within the WWE for two years and has been with the company from nine years, following his joining from ESPN. This continues a trend of contract terminations in the company today, as the company reduces its number of executives.

It is understood that the reason for the firings, layoffs etc is the widely held belief within the WWE that there are similar departments which can be merged together and this can be used to reduce the number of staff on the payroll. You can expect more terminations to continue throughout the week.

Potentially a Pandemic “Ripple Effect” Within the WWE

It is possible that the firings are a “ripple effect” of the current pandemic situation. It does not need to be explained that the pandemic has been disastrous for much of the business world. Therefore, companies small and large are cutting numbers to maintain a positive cash flow. With the reduced number of staff within WWE corporate, it is understood that remaining executives will take on extra work. There is believed to be more coming both today and in the coming weeks, so this will not be an isolated incident.
