Once again a stacked MLW FUSION card is upon us, and this week’s episode should be very telling of MLW‘s direction going forward. At the end of last week’s episode, MLW National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone issued a challenge to MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu. As Hammerstone stated, the ball is in Fatu’s court, and maybe we’ll get an answer on this week’s Fusion. Now let’s move on to what we know we’re getting, and that’s a grudge match in the main event between “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and Marshall Von Erich. Let’s dive in!

These men were once close friends; Tom Lawlor was the one that brought the Von Erichs into MLW, but since then, their relationship has turned into a bitter rivalry. Marshall Von Erich has been itching to get his hands on his former friend, and I have a feeling his anger will be his undoing.

Lawlor is having the best run of his career, fresh off winning the New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Openweight Championship, and let’s not forget that he was also the 2020 Opera Cup winner. If that momentum alone weren’t enough to guarantee him the victory, he also has Team Filthy to fall back on.This feels like a placeholder for Lawlor until he can challenge whoever emerges victorious between Fatu and Hammerstone when they inevitably clash. Either way, it will be a brawl worth watching, and you won’t want this MLW FUSION card!
