Report: Lars Sullivan Released

Lars Sullivan WWE SmackDown

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider Lars Sullivan has been released from his WWE contract.  They specify that he was quietly released last month.

Sullivan’s time with the WWE was controversial, to say the least.  He leaped onto the scene in NXTin 2017 and was on Takeover matches pretty soon after.  With his size and look it wasn’t long before he was called up to the main roster with vignettes produced to hype his debut.  Sullivan’s debut ended up getting delayed, reportedly due to anxiety attacks that caused him to take time off.  This was just the first barrier in the way of his main roster run.

Not long after his impactful debut Sullivan’s past came back to bite him as homophobic and racist remarks he made in his past were brought up as his run was heating up.  With his main roster run already snakebitten things went from bad to worse when Lars Sullivan suffered an injury that put him on the shelf for a long time.  He made his return post-Draft in 2020 after a year-long absence before mysteriously disappearing again.  It would appear that this is the last we will ever see of Sullivan in the WWE.
