#AndNEW: El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru Win Jr. Tag Titles

El Desperado

With Yoh unfortunately on the shelf with injury Roppongi 3K were forced to vacate the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships.  A tournament was announced to crown new champions in the lead up to the G1 and on the most recent NJPW event, the Suzuki Gun duo of El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated Los Ingobernables De Japon who were represented by BUSHI and Hiromu Takahashi to become the new champions.

This marks the second time the team of Desperado and Kanemaru have held the tag team championships. The first time saw them gold the belts for 304 days before losing them in early 2019.  This is the first time the team have held the titles since then and although they likely won’t be defending them anytime soon the new champions have a number of teams that will be chasing the titles.  Including the team of Master Wato and Ryusuke Taguchi who defeated Desperado and Kanemaru in the league phase of the tournament.
